Toddle supports integrations with external learning tools, providing students and teachers with seamless access to the resources they regularly utilize. In this article, we will explore how Toddle integrates with Wayground (Quizziz).
This article will cover how to:
Set up Wayground (Quizziz) in Toddle
As an admin, you can add tools from Toddle’s pre-configured catalog that support the LTI 1.1 or 1.3 standards.
To begin:
1. Navigate to Admin portal→School setup→LTI apps
2. Click the ‘+Add’ button.
3. Select ‘Add from catalog’.
Tip: For partner tools like Wayground, always use the catalog option. The custom app setup is only meant for tools not listed in Toddle’s catalog. To learn how to set up a custom tool, refer to this article.
4. Select Wayground from the catalog.
5. Select the curriculum(s) where you want this tool.
6. Choose the version from the dropdown. Click ‘Save and next’.
7. Generate and enter the required credentials. For some tools, Toddle generates credentials that can be copied and pasted into the required fields. For others, credentials need to be obtained from the tool’s portal. The mandatory fields include:
Initiate login URL
Launch/Redirect URL
Keyset URL
8. Add any custom parameters if required. These are additional values that can be passed from Toddle to the LTI tool to customize how the integration works. The type of parameters depends on the LTI tool; some tools may provide specific keys (e.g., lti_integration_id=xxxxx ), while others may not require any.
9. Toggle these settings if needed:
Allow grade passback – When enabled, scores from the LTI tool (for example, quiz results) will automatically flow into Toddle’s gradebook for the assignments where the tool is added.
Allow roster access – When enabled, the LTI tool can access the class-wise list of all students and teachers rostered in the curriculum where the tool is launched. This allows the tool to recognize and match users correctly.
10. Use the checkbox to enable the tool for teachers. Click ‘Save’ to complete setup.
The integration will appear as a card showing the tool name, configured curriculums, LTI version, and its status (enabled or disabled for the teachers). From this card, you can view details of the integration, edit the settings, or delete the tool if required.
Note: If teachers have already started using the tool, you can still edit its settings. However, deleting the tool will immediately remove access for all teachers and students.
Use Wayground (Quizziz) in the classroom
As an educator, you can incorporate integrated Wayground into your classroom by adding it to the submission template when creating class assignments. Here's how you can do it:
Click on ‘Add an external tool’ within the submission template.
Select Wayground.
Note: You might need to sign up or log in, depending on the tool you are using.
When you select Wayground as a submission template, it opens directly within Toddle, allowing you to embed interactive video lessons into your assignments.
Within the Wayground interface in Toddle, you can create or view all previously created or shared activities from the left panel. Simply select the activity you want to include in your assignment.
Note: The way it opens depends on the tool itself; some tools open inside Toddle (embedded in an iframe), while others open in a new tab.
To add a Wayground activity to your assignment, hover over the activity and click on the three-dot menu. From the dropdown, select ‘Assign’.
This will open the configuration screen where you can:
Add accommodations like dyslexia-friendly fonts, translations, extra time, and more for individual students
Choose the most suitable learning mode - Practice, Accuracy, or Testing - based on your objective
When you're ready, click ‘Assign’ to finalize the setup.
View at the students’ end
Once you assign the task, students will be able to see the Wayground attachment in their assigned task. In the ‘Your response’ section, they can click on the ‘Add’ button to begin interacting with the content.
Students can access their assigned Wayground activities directly within Toddle. All assigned tasks will be visible under the ‘Assigned activities' section on the Wayground interface, allowing students to easily launch and complete them.
