Latest enhancements in Rich text editor!
Updated over a week ago

We are thrilled to announce some fantastic new features added to our Rich text editor, designed to make your writing more dynamic and efficient. With our latest improvements, you can explore a variety of new features including table creation, adding headings, font colour options, and video embedding. Whether you are creating announcements, class tasks, or detailed unit plans, these enhancements will elevate your experience. Here’s what’s new:

1. Headings

You can now choose from three heading styles (H1, H2, H3) to clearly define sections and subsections in your content. This makes it easier to navigate through your text and highlights key points effectively. Keep in mind that headings and regular text sizes cannot be intermixed on the same line for clarity and consistency.

2. Font colours

You can use the color picker to change the color of your text to suit your needs. Whether you want to highlight important points or differentiate sections, the new color palette gives you the flexibility to do so. Simply select the text and choose the color from the picker. Both headings and paragraphs can have colors, enhancing the visual appeal of your content.

3. Tables

The new table icon in the rich text editor allows you to create tables within your content. Here are some key functionalities:

  • Insert tables with a maximum of eight columns to maintain readability.

  • Use the six dots icon to add or delete rows and columns as needed.

  • Use the six dots on a row or column to drag and drop them within the same table to reorganize data.

  • Copy and paste table data from external sources like Excel, and Docs.

  • Resize columns and rows for better data presentation.

  • Duplicate, delete, or copy tables to different editors for flexible usage.

In print, the table will appear neatly formatted with clearly defined rows and columns, enhancing the readability of your document.

4. AI Integration

For schools that have opted for AI features, there are additional capabilities available in the rich text editor:

  • Editing/improving text: You can select any text you’ve written or generated using AI and perform multiple actions on that specific piece of text. For example, continue writing, expand, shorten, simplify language, fix spelling and grammar, or translate text.

  • Writing from scratch: In the rich text editors, you can type the / command to trigger the AI editor to help you write a piece of text from scratch. For instance, you can ask the AI to help you write teacher questions while planning a unit, as shown below. You can even use the translate option to translate into the language of your choice. Please note that AI features are not applicable to the tables you create.

These new features are designed to provide you with greater control and creativity in your work.

That's all for now. We will continue to innovate and improve to make your Toddle experience better each day!
