We are excited to introduce a new feature that gives you more flexibility in configuring how MYP assessment criteria total is calculated in your Progress report, Gradebook, and Progress summary. You can now choose to calculate the MYP assessment criteria total based on ratings for all criteria or just any criteria. Let’s explore this feature in detail.
Navigating to the Overall score and IBMYP grade setup
Begin by navigating to the ‘Academic setup’ under ‘Programme-wide configurations’ for the MYP curriculum in your admin portal.
Within the Academic setup, go to the ‘Grading setup’ tab. Here, under the ‘Overall score and IBMYP grade setup’ you will find a new option labelled ‘MYP assessment criteria total’. This option allows you to configure how you would like the MYP assessment criteria total to be calculated in the progress reports for the classes in your MYP curriculum.
Simply click on the pencil icon highlighted in the screenshot below to access the configuration options.
Configuring MYP assessment criteria total calculation
In the modal that pops up, you will see two options for calculating the MYP assessment criteria total:
1. Only when all criteria are rated
The ‘Only when all criteria are rated’ option is recommended by the IB for calculating the MYP assessment criteria total. You can select this option if you want to calculate the total only when all criteria are rated. If even a single criterion is not marked, the total will not be calculated.
💡Please note that this option will be selected by default for calculating the MYP assessment criteria total.
Here’s how this will impact your progress report. As highlighted in the screenshot below, the total for the MYP assessment criteria is not calculated even if one criterion, i.e., ‘Criterion D’ in this case, is not marked. This will also affect the calculation of the final grade and local grade, as these grades are directly based on the MYP assessment criteria total.
💡 Please note that this change will impact any existing unlocked progress reports and will also affect other areas on the Toddle platform where student performance is displayed, such as the Gradebook and Progress summary.
2. When one or more criteria are rated
If you choose the ‘When one or more criteria are rated’ option, the MYP assessment criteria total will be calculated even if all criteria are not marked. This provides more flexibility for teachers to calculate totals based on partial criteria ratings.
Here’s how this will impact your progress report. As shown in the screenshot below, the total for the MYP assessment criteria is calculated even though one criterion, i.e., ‘Criterion D’ in this case, is not marked. This also means that the final grade and local grade will be calculated automatically, as these grades are directly based on the MYP assessment criteria total.
💡 Please note that this change will impact any existing unlocked progress reports and will also affect other areas on the Toddle platform where student performance is displayed, such as the Gradebook and Progress summary.
That's all for now. We will continue to innovate and improve to make your Toddle experience better each day!
