How can I raise excusals for students on behalf of family as an admin or homeroom advisor?
Updated over a week ago

We are excited to introduce a new feature that streamlines the attendance management process for schools. Admins and Homeroom advisors can now raise excusals for multiple students simultaneously. This update enables them to submit excusals on behalf of family members and log advance attendance for students for planned future school events.

As an admin, you can navigate to the ‘Excusals’ tab within the attendance dashboard for a curriculum. Here you can click on the ‘Add an excusal’ button to raise an excusal.

💡Homeroom advisors can click on the Homeroom card on their homepage and navigate to the ‘Excusals’ tab to raise excusals for their students. Additionally, both homeroom advisors and admins can go to Student profile > Attendance > Excusals and mark an excusal for a particular student.

Next, you can search and select one or more students and raise an excusal at once.

On the next screen, you can provide excusal details such as attendance to be marked, the duration, the reason and any attachments. These details will apply to all tagged students.

If you're creating an excusal for multiple students and have selected a ‘Partial day’ duration, the system will display a union of all applicable periods for the selected students, and the excusal will be applied to the relevant periods for each student.

💡Please note that when you or the homeroom advisor raises an excusal, the initial notification will be sent exclusively to the family members. All subsequent notifications related to the excusal will be sent to all stakeholders involved, including the admin and homeroom advisor.

That's all for now. We will continue to innovate and improve to make your Toddle experience better each day!
