How can I gain insights into Toddle usage and engagement by my school community as an administrator?

As a school administrator, you can easily access and monitor Toddle usage and engagement by staff, students, and families in your school/curriculum. Track curriculum-wide or school-wide insights and choose the time period for which you wish to view the data.

In this article, you will learn how to:

  • Navigate to engagement insights

  • View staff engagement

  • View students engagement

  • View family members' engagement

  • Download engagement insights

Navigating to engagement insights

As an administrator, you can access engagement insights from:

  • School/curriculum homepage → ‘Insights’ card → Engagement insights

  • Upon entering, click the ‘Engagement insights’ tab to explore the related data.

  • Engagement insights provide various metrics to help you track how actively your staff, students, and families use Toddle.

  • By default, the data displayed covers the last 7 days of the current school/curriculum. However, you can change the duration and view data for any other school/curriculum or multiple schools/curricula.

View staff engagement

The ‘by staff’ tab gives you a clear overview of staff engagement for the selected time duration and school(s)/curriculum(s). Here’s what you can view:

  • Number of active staff members out of the total staff count.

  • The percentage change, adjacent to the active staff count, indicates whether engagement has increased or decreased compared to the previous week, month, or academic year, depending on the selected duration.

  • A daily activity graph, showing how staff engagement has trended over the selected time frame.

Note: Active staff members are those who have logged into Toddle and interacted with the platform during the selected time duration.

Below the graph, you will see a list of each staff member’s basic information, activity levels, and engagement across Toddle modules for the selected time duration and school(s)/curriculum(s). This includes the number of:

  • Unit plans created

  • Tasks/assignments created

  • Portfolio posts created, liked, and commented on

  • Announcements created

  • Messages sent

    • Note: The Messaging column is visible only if your school/curriculum has subscribed to Toddle Connect. Additionally, messaging data is displayed independently of the school(s)/curriculum(s) selected.

You can perform the following actions on the data displayed:

  • Search bar: Search for a specific user

  • ‘Export’ icon: Download the table data as a spreadsheet

  • ‘Configure columns’ icon: Choose which columns to display in the table.

  • Note: These features function similarly in the insights of both students and family members.

View students engagement

The ‘by student’ tab gives you a clear overview of student engagement for the selected time duration and school(s)/curriculum(s). Here’s what you can view:

  • Number of active students out of the total student count.

  • Percentage change next to the active student count, showing whether engagement has increased or decreased compared to the previous week, month, or academic year, depending on the selected time range.

  • A daily activity graph, illustrating how student engagement has trended over the selected period.

Note: Active students are those who have logged into Toddle and interacted with the platform during the selected time duration.

Below the graph, a detailed report lists each student’s basic information, activity levels, and engagement across Toddle modules for the selected time duration and school(s)/curriculum(s). This includes the number of:

  • Assignments assigned, turned in, and overdue

  • Posts created, liked, and commented on

  • Announcements received

  • Messages sent

  • The ‘Messaging’ column is visible only if your school/curriculum has subscribed to Toddle Connect. Message data is independent of the selected school(s)/curriculum(s).

View family members' engagement

The ‘by family members’ tab gives you a clear overview of family engagement for the selected time duration and school(s)/curriculum(s). Here’s what you can view:

  • Total number of family members registered on Toddle.

  • Number of connected family members - those who have logged in at least once and successfully linked to their child(ren) on the family portal.

  • Active family members during the selected time period, along with a percentage change indicating whether engagement has increased or decreased compared to the previous week, month, or academic year, depending on the duration selected.

  • A daily activity graph, showing how family engagement has trended over the selected time frame.

Note: Active family members are those who have logged into Toddle and interacted with the platform during the selected time duration.

Below the graph, a detailed report lists each family member’s basic information, activity levels, and engagement across Toddle modules for the selected time duration and school(s)/curriculum(s). This includes the number of:

  • Posts liked and commented on

  • Announcements received

  • Attendance excusals raised

  • Messages sent

    • Note: The ‘Messaging’ column will only be visible if your school/curriculum has subscribed to Toddle Connect. The data shown for messages is independent of the selected school(s)/curriculum(s).

Download engagement insights

You can download the engagement insights for any user group by clicking on the 'Export' icon highlighted below.

A spreadsheet will be downloaded to your device, containing data from the fields you selected in the table view.
