Creating posts in class portfolio is a powerful means to document your learning journey, drawing evidence from daily classroom activities throughout the year. As a student, you can effortlessly upload your task submissions as portfolio posts right from your Toddle classroom.

This article will cover:

  1. Submitting tasks in Toddle classrooms

  2. Adding a submitted task to the class portfolio

    • Option 1: Post a single submission

    • Option 2: Post submissions in bulk

  3. Approval by teacher

Submitting tasks in the Toddle classroom

As a student, you can view the tasks assigned to you on the Toddle app in two ways :

Option 1: Tap on the 'To-do' media card located on your Homepage. This will show a comprehensive list of all tasks assigned to you across classes. This view is divided into two tabs:

  • To Do: This tab displays the tasks that require your attention and that you need to work on.

  • Done: This tab contains all the tasks that you have completed.

Additionally, you have the flexibility to filter the tasks by classes using the funnel icon located in the top right corner.

Option 2: If you want to view tasks for a specific class, you can select that class from your homepage and access the Class stream screen. Here, you will find a list of all the tasks assigned to you in the current class, categorized into three tabs:

  • To Do: This tab displays the tasks that you need to work on.

  • Scheduled: Tasks under this tab are scheduled for a future date.

  • Done: This tab contains all the tasks that you have completed.

In the 'Done' tab, you can select any completed task whose response you would like to upload to the portfolio. There are two ways to accomplish this as explained further in the article.

Add a submitted task to the class portfolio

Option 1: Post a single submission

Under the ‘Done’ tab, navigate to a task for which you have made the submission and use the 3-dots menu against your submitted work to add it to the portfolio. Here, you can follow these steps:

  1. Click on 'Add to portfolio', and you will be directed to a page where you can customize your portfolio post. Next, you have the option to add written and/or audio remarks to provide additional context for your work.

  2. You can also adjust various post settings such as tagging your classmates, specifying learning goals related to your work, and tagging class folders to categorize your post effectively.

  3. When you are satisfied with your post, simply click the 'Post' button. This will submit your post for your teacher's review, if applicable. Once approved, your post will be published.

💡Please note that you can only tag learning goals, peers, and folders in your portfolio posts if these settings have been enabled by your school administrator/coordinator.

Option 2: Post submissions in bulk

If you have multiple submissions for a task and you want to post them all together to the portfolio, you can utilize the bulk upload option. Simply click on the 'Add to portfolio' icon located above all your responses. This will allow you to upload all your submissions to the portfolio at once.

Next, you have the option to add written and/or audio remarks or descriptions for your post and adjust post settings such as tagging your classmates, learning goals, and class folders. As the final step, simply click the 'Post' button to submit the post for your teacher's review (if applicable). Once your teacher approves it, your post will be published.

💡Please note that you can only tag learning goals, peers, and folders in your portfolio posts if these settings have been enabled by your school administrator/coordinator.

Approval by teacher

💡Teacher’s approval for publishing a portfolio post is required only when this setting is enabled by your school administrator/coordinator.

If approval is necessary, any posts awaiting the teacher's approval will be clearly highlighted with a color-coded banner at the top, as shown below. You will have the ability to edit or delete the post while it is pending approval. The yellow banner will automatically disappear once your teacher approves the post.

Once the teacher has approved the post, your post will start appearing in the class portfolio feed and all students tagged to it will be able to view, like, and comment on it.

If your teacher returns the post, you will receive a notification and the post will be highlighted with a color-coded banner at the top. Additionally, any comments from your teacher will be included. To make revisions, you can use the three-dot menu and then resubmit the post for approval.

💡You will be able to edit your published posts only when the corresponding settings are enabled by your school administrator/coordinator.
