Personal project dashboard
The Personal project dashboard is where you will see an overview of your Personal project progress. To reach here, click on the ‘Personal project’ card located under Projects on your homepage
💡 Please note that the Personal project card will appear on your homepage only if your school administrator has invited you to the Personal project module on Toddle.
On the landing page, you will see the project title (if you have added it), your PP supervisor’s name, overall progress and status of your PP as indicated by your supervisor, number of meeting notes completed for the Academic Honesty form, and a list of deadlines set by your Personal project coordinator along with their completion status.
To guide you through your Personal project journey, the ‘Guidance’ tab at the top stores all PP learning material shared by your school coordinator and those provided by Toddle.
Personal project components
Clicking on the personal project card on the ‘Your progress’ dashboard will take you to its detailed view as shown below. Use the left-hand panel to navigate between different sections, each representing a particular aspect of the personal project.
Title and Learning goals
As a student, your first step is to choose a title for your Personal project, articulate why you selected this topic, and establish learning goals to maintain focus throughout.
Product goals
In the 'Product goals' section, briefly describe your project's intended outcome and the criteria for measuring its success.
After filling out these sections, you can request your supervisor to review and approve your proposal. The status, as determined by your supervisor, will be displayed at the top of your screen.
Every time your supervisor updates your Personal project status, you will receive a notification about the same that can be viewed by clicking on the bell icon on your homepage.
To have a one-on-one conversation with your supervisor about any Personal project element, simply click on the comment icon located above the respective field. If you notice a red badge next to any section in the left pane, it indicates that the teacher has left a comment for you or made updates in that section. Additionally, a red dot on the comment icon will tell you the exact field where a comment has been added. This behavior applies to tracking comments in other sections as well.
Project plan
Under ‘Project plan’, you can create your own personal project timeline with intermediate milestones and deadlines. Please note that this timeline must be in sync with the overall deadlines set by your coordinator, visible on your dashboard.
Process journal
The ‘Process Journal’ is where you can document the entire journey of your Personal project. This can include your primary and secondary research, a record of reflections and feedback, evidence from brainstorming sessions, etc.
To add a journal entry, click on the ‘Add’ button at the top, choose a media type, type in a brief description about the journal entry, and upload the evidence. You can also tag ATL skills and personal project MYP objectives to your process journal entries. If you wish to make any changes to an existing entry, use the three dot-menu to edit or delete it. Your supervisor can view these reflections and comment on each one.
Personal project report
Personal Project report is the culmination of your Personal project journey that summarises your experiences and the skills used or developed throughout the process. This report will be submitted to the IB. In addition to the personal project report, you must also submit a bibliography and an optional multimedia recording.
You can upload the draft and final submissions for the report, bibliography and recording under the ‘Report’ tab. If provided by your coordinator, you will see an option to use a report template in order to draft your report. The integration with Turnitin allows you and your supervisor to run a plagiarism check on your work.
💡Please note that Turnitin integration must be enabled by your school administrator for you to do a plagiarism check on submitted files.
Additionally, if the setting is enabled by your school administrator, your submitted files will be automatically locked within 15 minutes of upload. You will not be able to make any changes to the locked file unless your supervisor unlocks it for you.
Furthermore, you can easily check if your supervisor has annotated your draft files by clicking on the bell icon on your homepage. As you click on the notification, you will be taken to the Personal project page, where you can find out where your supervisor has provided feedback by looking for a red dot next to the annotated file and a notification badge on the left pane.
💡Please note that supervisors can only annotate draft files submitted in PDF format.
Academic honesty
The ‘Academic honesty’ section is where you can document the 3 compulsory meetings that you are supposed to have with your supervisor as per IB requirements. Begin by updating basic details such as your student code and uploading your signature. These details will reflect on the Academic Honesty form when it is downloaded by the supervisor for submission to the IB. Click on the ‘Add’ icon to record your meeting notes for each session.
You can indicate the date of the given meeting and add the details of what was discussed. Click on ‘Add meeting notes’ to finally save the interaction details.
Once your supervisor has approved the same, they will lock the entries so that no further edits can be made. Or if auto-locking is enabled by your admin, the meeting notes will be automatically locked within 15 minutes of upload. You will not be able to make any changes to the locked notes unless your supervisor unlocks it for you. When the entire Academic honesty form has been completed, your supervisor can download it from Toddle for submission to the IB.
Overall progress and interim deadlines
To further enhance your Personal project journey, Toddle has built-in features that make keeping track of your progress an easy task. You can view your overall progress as indicated by your supervisor in the top right corner of the screen. Further, click on the purple icon in the right pane to view the interim deadlines set by your school’s PP coordinator and the ones that have been marked as achieved by your supervisor.
Throughout your Personal project journey, you will receive notifications when your supervisor makes a change in the status of your overall progress.
Review Request
Review log is a new addition that promotes collaboration between you and your supervisor by letting you easily request a review from them and seek their feedback on your work.
To request a review, click the 'Request review' button in the top left corner. This opens a modal where you can type your request. Click 'Raise a request' to send it.
You will receive notifications and see numbered badges to stay updated on any comments/edits to these review requests made by your supervisor. You have the option to comment, resolve or delete these requests. Simply click on the ‘Resolved’ tab to see the requests that have been resolved.
Personal project completion
Once you have submitted the final report, and added all 3 meeting notes, your supervisor can mark your Personal project as complete after which no edits can be made to any of the Personal project elements. This update will appear at the top of your screen and you will see your PP status as ‘Completed’.
You will also be notified about this update which will be visible under the ‘Notifications’ on your homepage.
