At the top right, you will find the status and overall progress of your CAS journey as marked by your CAS adviser.
Below, you will see individual sections for ‘Interests and goals,’ ‘Evidences and reflections,’ ‘Feedback,’ and ‘Interviews.’ Refer to this section to understand each of these in detail.
Further down, you can view all your CAS experiences in a tabular or timeline format. You can use the ‘plus’ button placed at the top right of the table to create a new CAS experience or project.
At the bottom, visual insights in the form of graphs provide a clear summary of your CAS progress. Let's explore each of these in detail.
CAS experiences
In this dashboard, you can view all your CAS experiences and projects along with key details such as assigned supervisors, CAS strands, tagged learning outcomes, supporting evidence, reflections, and duration.
Use these features on the dashboard for enhanced efficiency:
List view: Provides a list of your CAS experiences and projects in a tabular form. It displays key details, including the status, CAS strands covered, learning outcomes tagged, associated evidence and reflections, total duration, start and end date, and last modified date.
Timeline View: Provides a comprehensive overview of your CAS engagement over the two years of the DP program. This view helps visualize the CAS experiences completed each month and the strands they have addressed.
Badge icons: If there are any new CAS experiences or projects added by your supervisor/adviser or updates made to existing ones, a badge will be displayed next to it for easy identification on the dashboard.
Archive/delete an experience: To archive or delete an experience/project, use the three-dot menu under the ‘Action’ column. Note that you can only archive or delete those experiences/projects that have been created by you.
CAS overall progress
Once you scroll down, you can explore visual insights into your CAS performance through interactive graphs. You can view:
Total number of CAS experiences with a status breakdown
Total hours spent on CAS experiences and projects
Strand-wise hourly progress on Creativity, Activity, and Service
Learning outcomes progress with a list of experiences linked to each outcome
💡The insights on total hours and hourly progress will show up only if the school administrator has enabled the settings for logging CAS hours. Click on any of the color-coded bars or numbers to view the corresponding list of experiences.
Creating a new experience/project
To add a new CAS experience/project to your portfolio, simply click on the ‘plus button on the ‘CAS Experiences’ dashboard. Begin by providing basic details about the experience/project, including the title, cover image, and start/end dates of the activity. If the experience is classified as a CAS project, mark the checkbox below the title.
Below, you can select which CAS strands will be addressed through this experience/project. As you make progress in your experience, you can log the total duration of the CAS experience, along with the specific hours spent on each strand. Additionally, you can select appropriate approaches for each CAS strand.
💡Note that you will able to record hourly progress only if your school administrator has enabled the setting for logging CAS hours.
Next, you can choose to include the CAS stages in this experience/project. This will create an additional section where you can elaborate on how the CAS stages will be applied to this experience/project.
Finally, you have the option to add internal or external supervisors to the experience/project by pressing the ‘Add’ option next to it.
A pop-up window will appear, displaying a list of teachers from across curriculums in your school. Select your preferred supervisor(s) and click ‘Add.’.
In case you have undertaken the CAS experience or project under the guidance of an external supervisor, you can invite these external supervisors using the corresponding option, as highlighted below.
In the pop-up that opens next, enter the details of the external supervisor including their name, email address, and the organization they belong to.
If you select supervisors (internal or external) who are not on the approved list, your CAS coordinator will receive a request for supervisor approval. Once approved, the supervisor will gain access to your CAS experience/project through their portal and can begin their review.
Lastly, add collaborators, if any, to your experience by selecting the respective students from the pop-up window. Once done, click on the ‘Create’ button to save your experience/project.
💡All of this information can be updated at any time until the CAS experience/project is marked complete.
Once your new experience/project has been created, you will be directed to its dedicated page, as shown below.
On the left panel, you will find different sections to structure your CAS experience. These allow you to provide details, tag learning outcomes, document evidence, and reflect on your progress.
The information you enter here can be reviewed by your supervisor and adviser, who may provide feedback through comments or edits. Once the experience is marked complete, your supervisor can add their final remarks in the ‘Final supervisor comment’ section, which will then be available to you in view-only mode.
Let's delve into each of the sections in the left pane.
Title and basics
This section displays the basic information provided by you during the initial creation, including the title, cover image, and start/end dates of the CAS experience. Feel free to make any changes, if necessary.
Additionally, if there are any supporting documents such as a risk assessment form, you can upload them using the ‘Add a file’ button.
As a student, you can get feedback from your supervisor on specific sections of the CAS experience/project. If your supervisor has left a comment for you, you will see a numbered badge next to that section as highlighted below. You can communicate with your supervisor via the chat window, send audio notes, and use emojis in your messages. The corresponding supervisor will receive a notification upon receiving your message.
Description and learning outcomes
Use this section to provide your motivation for pursuing the experience, a detailed narrative of what it will entail, and select one or more of the seven IB-defined learning outcomes that will be covered.
CAS stages
If CAS stages are enabled in the ‘Title and Basics’ section, a dedicated section will appear in the left panel, where you can provide further details on how these stages are applied to the experience/project.
Evidences and reflections
Use this section to upload evidence and reflections about your CAS experience/project as you progress. You can submit evidence in various formats, including notes, voice recordings, files, photos, videos, links, and more. This helps track your personal growth and ensure that the CAS programme requirements are met.
To create a new post, you must add the description, and relevant attachments, and tag one or more learning outcomes you believe you have achieved. Tagging learning outcomes allows the evidence to appear in your CAS portfolio as proof of completing those outcomes.
Once done, hit ‘Publish’.
Once the post is published, you and the supervisors will be able to view the tagged outcomes below the corresponding evidence/reflection.
Supervisors may also leave comments on these submissions, as highlighted below, triggering a notification for you to respond. Additionally, they have the option to add evidence or reflections on your behalf, if necessary.
Final supervisor comment
Upon completion of your experience or project, your supervisor(s) will provide a final review comment summarizing your involvement, engagement, and growth throughout the experience. This serves as a reflection on your progress and helps validate your participation in CAS.
Marking CAS experience/project as complete
Upon completion of the experience/project, the corresponding supervisors can mark it as ‘Complete’ using the status dropdown at the top right. You will receive a notification informing you about the same.
After marking it as ‘Complete,’ no further changes can be made unless the supervisor reverts the status to ‘Draft’ or ‘Approved.’

Tracking overall progress of CAS
Back on the CAS portfolio dashboard you can access and review the following cards:
Interests and goals
Evidences and reflections
Feedback
Interviews
💡 You will be able to view the ‘Interviews’ card only if it is enabled by your school administrator.
Interests and goals
In this section, you can add your overall goals and aims for the CAS programme. Use the chat option to receive feedback and engage in one-on-one discussions with your adviser.
The information you enter here can be reviewed by your adviser, who may provide feedback through comments or edits.
Evidences and reflections
In this section, you can track your progress towards achieving the seven learning outcomes (LO) set by the IB. Under each LO, you will find an aggregation of all the evidence from your CAS experiences/projects associated with that specific outcome.
Once you have presented sufficient evidence for an LO, and your adviser marks it as achieved, a green tick will appear next to it, as shown below. You will also receive a notification confirming the same. Furthermore, use the chat option to receive feedback on your evidence and reflections and engage in one-on-one discussions with your adviser.
Feedback
In this section, you can view feedback from your CAS adviser on your overall CAS engagement. You can also interact with them by clicking on the individual feedback and engaging in a one-on-one chat with your adviser.
Interviews
As per the IB guidelines, each student must undertake 3 formal CAS interviews during the course of the two years of DP. If enabled by your school administrator, you will be able to view the CAS interview comments logged by your adviser for the three formal interviews. Additionally, you can upload CAS interview recordings from your end, if enabled by your school administrator.
To add an interview, you must provide a date, the relevant interview remarks, and any necessary voice notes or other media attachments. Once done, click on ‘Save’ to add the interview notes.
If the school administrator has enabled the auto-lock feature for students, your interview notes will automatically lock fifteen minutes after submission. However, advisers can manually unlock them, allowing students to make further edits if needed.
Additionally, you have the option to edit or delete interview remarks using the three-dot menu before the interview is locked.
Overall Progress and CAS completion
Back at the student’s portfolio dashboard, your adviser will indicate your overall CAS performance by selecting an option from the ‘Overall progress’ status at the top right. You will receive a notification informing you about the same.
Furthermore, once the student has fulfilled all CAS requirements- including the seven learning outcomes, three formal interviews, and at least one CAS project- your adviser will mark your CAS portfolio as complete by updating the status in the top right corner. Note that once CAS is marked as complete, no further edits can be made to your CAS portfolio unless the status is reverted.
You will be notified every time the adviser changes the status or overall progress of your CAS portfolio.
With these steps, students can effectively manage their CAS portfolios, ensuring seamless collaboration and successful completion of all CAS requirements.
