Override overall scores and grades in progress reports and Gradebook
Updated over a week ago

We have introduced an additional setting that will allow school administrators to permit teachers to override overall scores, overall grades, and local grades of students directly in the Progress reports. Read this article to learn more.

To configure this setting, navigate to your curriculum settings from the admin portal, and enable the option for allowing teachers to override scores and grades. It will be enabled by default.

Teachers will then be able to modify the category scores, final scores, final grades, and local grades for each subject from the ‘Progress summary’ or the individual ‘Subject reports’. Let’s explore these in further detail.

💡Previously, teachers could only override the final grade for subjects. Additionally, any overridden scores/grades will automatically be reflected in the class Gradebook.

Upon clicking on any of the category scores, a pop-up window will appear, allowing teachers to override the existing score. All overridden scores and grades are displayed in yellow, with the original calculated score displayed in the corner.

Teachers will also be able to view the individual assessments tagged to that category along with their scores. Please note that scores of individual assessments cannot be overridden.

💡 If a grade is directly calculated from a certain score, overriding the score will automatically impact that grade based on the boundaries defined by the school.

Likewise, teachers can click on the final score and override it from the pop-up window. Here, they will also find all the category-wise assessments with a clear distinction between the original and overridden scores, as highlighted below.
