How to navigate Toddle on the app as a student?

Welcome to Toddle! We’re thrilled to have you on board. In this article, we will guide you through the many useful features available on the Toddle Student App, that will make it super easy to track your school journey and reach your academic goals. Let’s get started!

Navigating Toddle app

As you open the Toddle Student App, you will find multiple login options, as shown below. You can sign in by scanning the QR code, through your student ID, or with your registered email ID. If you are a first-time user, refer to this article to learn about the different ways of signing into your account.

Once you have logged in successfully, this is what your landing page will look like.

💡The cards you see on your homepage may vary depending on the configurations done by your school admin.

Profile settings

Let’s start with the top left. Here, you'll find an icon with your initials or profile picture. Click on it to get to the ‘My Profile’ page. Let’s understand the options you will see here.

Connect to your Google/Microsoft account: Here, you can link your Google/Microsoft account to your Toddle account with just a few simple clicks.

Language switcher: Use the language switcher to select your preferred language for the platform, from the six language options available.

Notification settings: By clicking on the notification settings, you can set your notification preferences of where and when you want to be notified. Read this article to learn all about notification settings.

Accessing notifications

Next is the bell icon on the right. Click on it to access your notifications. These will help you keep in touch with your class activities, school events, assignments, and more!

The gear icon highlighted in the below screen takes you to the ‘Notifications settings’ page. Here you can set your notification preferences by selecting where and when you want to be notified. To learn more about how to access and manage your notifications, refer to this article.

Dashboard

Now let's explore the main dashboard section filled with helpful cards:

Assignments and deadlines

The ‘Assignments and deadlines’ card shows all the tasks and assignments you need to or have worked on. Upcoming tasks, past due items and the ones with no due date, will all be listed here. Tap the filter icon on the top right to choose which type of task and classes you want to view the tasks for.

Calendar

Never miss an event! The ‘Calendar’ card will give you access to the full year's calendar including holidays, parent-teacher conferences, school-wide events and other upcoming deadlines. Switch between daily or weekly views and gain information on all the happenings in your school.

Announcements

The ‘Announcements’ card is where you will find all the latest news and updates shared by the school about events, holidays, etc. You can click on each announcement to get more details on the same. You can also search for specific announcements by clicking on the search icon.

My goals

The Goals module empowers you to set personal goals, create intermediate milestones, and track their progress, all within the platform. You can view ongoing or completed goals, and add new goals by clicking on the plus icon highlighted below. To learn more about student goals, refer to this article.

Progress reports

Access the latest academic reports and evaluations shared by the school using the ‘Progress reports’ card. You can view and download PDF copies of your reports.

Timetable

Get the daily class schedule at a glance through this timetable card.

Attendance

Here you can keep track of your overall attendance. You can easily view your previous excusal history from this section too. To learn more about viewing and managing your attendance, refer to this article.

Messaging

You can converse with your teachers by clicking on the ‘Messaging’ card on your homepage. You can use this feature to actively participate in conversations initiated by teachers, as well as initiate chats with teachers from your end.

💡You will be able to initiate a conversation with your teacher only if the relevant setting is enabled by your school admin.

School policies and resources

Important policy documents and official resources shared by the school will be housed in this section for your reference.

Gradebook

You can conveniently access the Gradebook module on the student app, providing you easy access to all relevant information about your academic performance across all subjects and grading periods.

At the bottom of the screen, you will find separate tabs. The Final Grades tab shows overall scores for each subject. The Assessments tab breaks down performance by subject, with detailed teacher evaluations. If you are an MYP student, you can view your progress on the four MYP Criteria in the MYP Criteria tab. The More tab provides additional insights like your performance on learning goals such as Approaches to learning, Subject standards etc. Refer to this article to learn more.

Classes

Finally, you will get detailed insights into your classes by clicking on any one of them. Let’s explore the individual sections you will see inside a class.

💡 The features listed below may vary depending on what your school has enabled for the current academic year.

Portfolio

The ‘Portfolio’ is where you can document your learning journey, drawing evidence from daily classroom activities throughout the year. The posts you or your teachers create can be easily shared with your peers and family members, enabling seamless collaboration and visibility.

To create a new post, simply tap on the ‘Create post’ button on the top right. Learn more about creating posts here. You can also upload your task submissions as portfolio posts right from your Toddle classroom. Refer to this article to learn more.

Assignments

This section has details of the various tasks assigned to you. You can easily navigate between the tasks to be done, scheduled tasks and those that are already completed from the panel on top of the screen. You can also submit your responses and view your teacher’s evaluation here. Refer to these articles to learn more about submitting assignments.

While submitting an assignment, simply click on the ‘Add work’ button. You will then be able to add different formats and types of files as your response. Don’t forget to mark your work as done in order to successfully submit your assignment.

Class flow

The ‘Class flow’ section is the one-stop where you will find a structured layout of all the tasks, and learning resources of your class organised by your teacher into relevant folders or even independently. You can chat with your teachers for specific assignments, turn in your work, and even add comments through this section.

Notifications

The notifications section will help you keep in touch with your class activities, and assignments for the particular class you’re viewing.

Unit planning

The ‘Unit planning’ tab shows the different units your teacher has planned for your class. It's a great way to preview what you'll be learning next. If you're curious about future topics or want to prepare ahead, this is the place to check.

By clicking on any of the units, you can access the details of the unit plan that your teacher has prepared for you.

Class files

This tab would contain all the resources shared by your teacher with the class. You can view and download these resources for your reference. You can also search for a particular file or folder using the search bar right at the top.

Class switcher

If you are enrolled in more than one class, you can easily navigate between classes by using the ‘Class switcher’ tab as shown below.
