We are pleased to introduce a new update that enables you to easily select one or more MYP phase objectives for your units. Moreover, a visual cue will indicate the recommended level/phase while tagging MYP objectives to units, assignments, and students. This will minimize errors and ensure proper alignment of MYP objectives, making the learning process more meaningful.
In this article, we will cover MYP phase selection for:

Units
While creating an MYP unit, you will see a dropdown menu for selecting the MYP objectives year/phase. The recommended year objective, based on the current grade, will be indicated by a tag and displayed at the top.
Furthermore, you can tag multiple year objectives to a unit, as shown below.
Please note that if you select objectives other than the recommended one, a disclaimer will alert you about the same.
When sharing the unit, you can add classes mapped to the subject within the selected unit as usual. However, if the selected classes have different recommended phase objectives than the one used in the unit, a warning will prompt you to review your selections before proceeding.
Assessments
While creating a learning experience or assessment, navigate to the ‘Assessment tool(s)’ section and choose ‘MYP criteria-based rubric’.
You can then select the appropriate MYP year objectives for the assessment. Similar to unit creation, the ‘Recommended’ tag will be displayed against the year objective mapped to the grade.
If you select a year objective other than the recommended one, the same disclaimer message will appear, prompting you to review your selection before proceeding.
Students
In the 'Subject settings' of a class, you can configure the MYP assessment criteria for each student for a grading period. This MYP criteria is used to assess students for their final MYP grade. By default, it is set to the year objective mapped to the grade of the current class.
You can modify the applicable year objectives for individual students or all students, as shown below.
After making the necessary changes, a confirmation window will appear, highlighting the implications of changing the year/phase objectives for the selected students from the default recommendation.
Please note that any existing or newly created assignments linked to a different phase will no longer appear in these students’ grading history if the new phase is selected.
With this feature, teachers can confidently align units, assessments, and student learning phases with the recommended year objectives. This enhancement streamlines curriculum planning, reduces errors and ensures consistency across grade levels.
That's all for now. We will continue to innovate and improve to make your Toddle experience better each day!
