Key features
CSP dashboard
You can access the Collaborative sciences project module from:
Curriculum homepage (DP) → Collaborative sciences project
💡 Please note that the CSP card will appear on your homepage only if your coordinator has assigned you a CSP project on Toddle.
On the landing page, you will see an overview of your project. This includes details such as group name, project title (if added), group members, assigned supervisors, and overall status.
At the bottom, you will find a list of deadlines for the project, as defined by your CSP coordinator. Each entry displays the title, description, due date, closing date and time (if applicable), and submission status, allowing you to track all upcoming and completed deadlines at a glance.
Clicking on the CSP card on the ‘Project’ dashboard will take you to its detailed view as shown below. Use the left-hand panel to navigate between the following sections, each representing a particular aspect of the project:
Planning
Action: Investigation
Action: Presentation
Reflection
The ‘Planning’, ‘Action: Investigation’, and ‘Action: Presentation’ sections are shared with your CSP group. Any changes made here will reflect for all your group members. In contrast, the ‘Reflection’ section is individual. Your reflection entered in this section will remain private and won’t be visible to others in your group.
If you notice a numbered red badge next to any section in the left pane, it indicates that your supervisor or fellow collaborators, if any, have left a comment for you or made updates in that section. Additionally, a red dot on the comment icon indicates the exact field where a comment has been added.
Let's get into the details of each section.
Planning
The ‘Planning’ tab is a shared space that is visible to all your group members. Here, you and other group members can work collaboratively to create a proposal and an action plan for your project. You can specify the project title, problem statement, and any other additional information that you wish to add as part of the planning.
Furthermore, you can create a detailed project plan where you can create a list of all the project tasks to be done, establish deadlines, allocate one or more owners for each task, and track the task status. You can add as many tasks as you wish using the ‘Add row’ button or delete the existing ones using the bin icon.
In addition, you can upload supporting documents - such as consent forms, equipment lists, or risk assessments - to ensure all required materials are readily available.
Action: Investigation
Under the ‘Action: Investigation’ tab, you and your group members can share the ongoing research and investigation being done on the project. You can create posts and upload multiple attachments to them.
To add a new post, click on the ‘Create new post’ button at the top right.
On the landing page, type a description for the post and upload any combination of attachments using audio notes, your local device, GoogleDrive/Workspace, OneDrive, or upload a link.
If you wish to remove any of the added media files, hover your cursor on the media card and click on the bin icon, as highlighted below. Once satisfied with your post, click ‘Save’.
Once the post is published, it will start appearing along with other posts. You can edit it anytime using the 3-dot menu next to it. You can view comments added by collaborators or supervisors on the post, or add your own by clicking the comment icon.
Additionally, you can look for specific posts using the ‘Students’ filter or search bar.
💡All students collaborating in a group project can view each other’s posts, but can only modify posts created by them.
Action: Presentation
This section is where you and other group members can individually or collectively upload final submissions for CSP. To upload work, click on the ‘Add’ button and choose from your local device, Google Drive, or OneDrive/SharePoint. Once uploaded, all group members and supervisor(s) can view the submitted work by directly clicking on it.
The 3-dot menu next to each submission allows you to ‘Download’ or ‘Delete’ it. However, the delete option would be disabled if the work is uploaded by your supervisor or some other member in the group.
The lock icon indicates whether the submissions are in a locked or unlocked state by the supervisor. Note that you can only upload your final presentations as long as it is unlocked. If the supervisor or coordinator locks this section, no new submissions will be accepted.
Once you are done with the final submissions, you can move on to add your final reflections.
In addition to submitting work in the ‘Action: Presentation’ section, you can also view and submit work for other custom deadlines set by your coordinator. These deadlines can be accessed either from the CSP landing page or by clicking the ‘Deadlines’ icon in the right pane.
When you click on a deadline, you will be directed to the submission page as shown below. Here you can view the task details, its due date, and the closing date.
On this page, you can submit your work by typing a response in the text area provided or by uploading files. The three‑dot menu next to each uploaded file allows you to download, rename, view submission details, or delete it if needed. Once your submission is ready, click ‘Mark as done’ to share it with your supervisor.
You can unsubmit your work at any time before the due date or until your supervisor manually locks the submission. Once locked, no further edits or new submissions can be made for that deadline.
Reflection
In the ‘Reflection’ section, you can include a reflective statement of about 100 words summarising your participation in the CSP. Everyone in the group is required to write and submit an individual reflection statement.
Add your reflection in the text box and click the ‘Submit reflection’ button, as highlighted below. Accordingly, the supervisor will be notified that you have submitted your reflection.
💡 You can only view and add your own reflective statement. Reflections from other group members will not be visible to you.
You can edit or delete your reflection statement using the corresponding icons highlighted below. Your supervisor can also choose to edit or delete your reflective statement at their end.
You will not be able to modify your reflections once they are locked by the supervisor. Once it is locked, you will be notified, and a ‘lock’ icon will appear next to the reflection, as shown below.
Key features
We offer some helpful features to enhance your experience of tracking your CSP journey on Toddle:
Review log
Promotes collaboration between students and teachers by letting you easily request a review from your supervisor and seek feedback. You can request a review using the ‘Request review’ button at the top-right and insert the relevant remarks. Once done, click on ‘Raise a request’ and the corresponding supervisor(s) will receive a notification regarding the same.
Both you and your supervisor(s) can comment on, resolve, or delete these requests. Once the supervisor responds to your review request, you can view their feedback in the ‘Review log’ window and take the necessary action, as shown below. To view requests that have been resolved, simply click on the ‘Resolved’ tab. If you choose to edit an existing request, the supervisor will receive a notification informing them of the update.
Project status and overall progress
You can view the status of your CSP project - such as ‘Draft’, ‘Approved’, or ‘Completed’ - at any time from the page header on the top right. When your supervisor marks the project as completed, a banner appears at the top showing the completion date. Once marked as completed, no further edits can be made unless the supervisor changes the status back to ‘Draft’ or ‘Approved’.
You can also view the project’s overall progress in the same header. Both the project status and overall progress are updated by your supervisor, and you will receive a notification each time a change is made.
Comments window
This window enables smooth collaboration between students and supervisors. By clicking the chat icon next to specific project sections, you can exchange feedback or updates in the panel on the right. The text box at the bottom allows you to include emojis, tag users, or add voice notes. All comments are organized in a thread format, making it easy to track conversations related to the project.
Deadlines window
Click the purple icon in the right pane to view all interim deadlines set by your coordinator. This window displays each task’s due date, closing date (if applicable), submission status, and completion status, helping you track progress against every deadline.
You can also click on any of the individual deadlines to view or submit work against it.
With these steps, students can effectively manage their CSP projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and successful completion of all requirements.
